Lazy Afternoons

I haven't really done much today. Just the laundry, lunch and the general wandering around my flat. I have started my cookbook. I forgot how much I loved to cook. Being in the dorms I never did it and always thought of it as a chore. Now that I have my own (small) kitchen I have been doing a lot of cooking lately which Joan is very happy about. Last night I tried to recreate Chili's Cajun Chicken Pasta. It didn't taste exactly like it but it was still very good. We had Caesar Pasta Salad and Cheesecake with Sliced strawberries and whipped cream for dessert. I really enjoy being Susie Homemaker except for when I get bored. Sure there are things I could do during the day but I just choose not to, so it really is my own fault.

Joan thinks he will get off work early today, around 4:30 which will bring him home around 5:15 depending on traffic. I would like to go into town, take a walk by the beach. From my windows it looks so peaceful down there.

I do a lot of spying up here in my flat. I can see the city so it's pretty easy. Across from our building is another apartment building, I watched the same lady do her laundry every other day. The manager showing potential new buyers the great view from the roof top terrace. The neighbor two doors down fixing up his pool. The house across the street is gigantic, I see the money making husband with his blond wife and screaming child checking out the place once a day while the workers paint and renovate it. I am hoping for something scandalous to happen but so far nothing yet. I suppose I don't want to end up like the kid in the movie Disturbia.

Perhaps Joan and I will have dinner on the roof top terrace tonight.
That sounds good to me, providing it's not to windy or cold.

Now it is time to take a nice warm bath and finish reading The Shadow Of The Wind.

P.S. to Debbi. The Vienna Opera sounds marvelous!
